Microsuction Ear Wax Removal Bedford

CQC Regulated Microsuction Ear Wax Removal in Bedford for Adults and Children

Blocked ears?

Ear wax, is produced inside your ears to keep them clean and free of germs. It protects the skin of the human ear canal, assists in cleaning and lubrication, and provides some protection from bacteria, fungi, insects and water. Overall, ear wax is a good thing!

Some people produce a larger amount of ear wax, which doesn’t naturally leave the ear and blocks the ear canal. This leads to reduced hearing and also a blocked feeling in the ear.

The best way to clear excessive earwax is to use microsuction which is a small medical suction device that carefully hoovers out the ear wax. This is now the preferred treatment and is far safer than traditional syringing with water.

We use high powered surgical magnifying glasses to see the fine details of the ear canal and drum enabling the ear wax to be removed safely for adults and children.

Clinic

We treat adults and children and are conveniently located at the Bedford Consulting Rooms in central Bedford. There is free parking on site and also parking at St Peters Street Car Park less than a minute walk.

A consultation fee of £40 is charged if no ear wax is present.

Home visits can also be arranged – please call 01234 417318.

We advise both adult and children to use olive oil to soften the ear wax prior to their appointment. Olive oil encourages the natural movement of wax from the outer ear by softening it. Normal olive oil works just fine and a ‘dropper’ can be bought from your local pharmacy. Alternatively, pharmacists also sell olive oil spray for ear wax softening.
